World of Warcraft Item Upgrade and Set Bonuses
The item upgrade is a form of enchantment that improves the stats in certain weapons or armor. This includes secondary statistics such as Leech and Speed.

Universal upgrades can be used on any type of equipment and offer fewer benefits than other components that are equipment type specific to the equipment type.
Leveling
Upgrades allow players to upgrade their items by increasing their levels. The increase in level also increases the item's "guaranteed" bonuses. Each level upgrade increases the stats on the item by 3 and gives an additional bonus based on the level of the item. These extras range from a +3 bonus to +1 to an unspecified buff.
Each item can be upgraded for a specific amount of times. After the upgrade, the item is able to be re-transferred into a higher-tiered item that has the same or greater value.
This system is useful for players who want to purchase equipment with a certain level of stats prior to acquiring the new item. The transfer system allows players to avoid wasting upgrade materials and is easy to use.
Upgrade materials are gathered when the player clears their cache of content. They are used to improve or replace an item. Each item requires a distinct kind of upgrade material. Weapons require Destruction stones, while armor items require Guardian or Harmony Leapstones. When an item is upgraded, the materials are changed in their names. For example, Stone Fragments becomes Stones and Harmony Shards becomes Life Shards.
Item upgrade is important for enhancing the performance of a character, but it is important to think about the cost prior to making any changes. Every time an item is upgraded, the upgrade costs an amount of gold that could be better used on the purchase of a new piece of equipment. This is why it's a good idea to upgrade the most crucial items in a given situation.
This usually means upgrading the weapon first before the legs and chest, then the helm. Upgrade trinkets now if the player has the money to do this. This will maximize their potential for procs. For example, a high-end Throne of Thunder trinket may be worth upgrading to get more damage that its procs can bring. Rerolling is similar to the system of leveling up. Reroll tokens can be used to remove a Level Up option from your item and exchange it for another. Reroll tokens, unlike Level Up do not reset an item's level. This means that, if you reroll a upgraded item, it will not be at the same level and will not receive the bonus.
Players can also make use of an additional mechanic, Eliminate, to eliminate any Level Up option they have on their weapons or equipment. This is useful if you get a bad gacha or you wish to reroll a five-star model. To accomplish this, you'll need to create an account, or sign up through social media.
Similarly, there is an Occultist in each town who can be contacted to alter a weapon's or armor's Aspects and/or stats. This is useful if you are looking to improve your epic five-star character or when your four-star elite character isn't working for you.
Rerolling tokens are available by completing specific quests. Sets can be used in a variety of different ways, from organizing music on a playlist to classifying students by their grades.
In Nioh the game, players use sets to offer special effects for players who wear certain pieces of an Armor Set. These bonuses are called Set Bonuses and they can be superior to Effects. Although it is not explained why the armor sets must be worn together in order to generate these additional effects, they are a nice way to change things up when playing the game. The armor sets with Set Bonuses can be found in many places around Hyrule, such as the Dark Moon Temple and Twilight Temple.
Every piece of equipment in the Set has a number of Set bonuses that go along with it. The tooltip on the bottom of the item will tell you which Set Bonuses are available. Set Bonuses are displayed in a box with the red border.
Certain of these set bonuses are only available for certain equipment. If you have the complete Phantom Armor set, you will receive +8 defense (instead of the standard +3 defense that you receive with the majority of gear). Certain sets can only be obtained by completing certain tasks, or by purchasing them from the Auction House.
It is possible to earn Set Bonuses on multiple items of equipment simultaneously. If you own the entire Kestra's Descent Set and the corresponding parts of Twinblade of Shadow, you will be able to get the version with the + set's bonus if you soul match the two sets.
Set Bonuses are the same, despite the equipment to which they are attached is upgraded. If an item is exemplared too low, the set bonus will not work.
Set bonuses

They are only available on the Test Realm. However, this number is expected to rise once the update is made available. For instance, the popular 7 school-specific Dragoon's gear will have its bonus added when the update hits Live.
While Set Bonuses cannot stack within the same set, they can stack between different sets. This is great for those that want to use the most efficient combination of sets. It is important to remember that the value of the bonus of a set will not change even if your exemplar is greater than three levels lower than the minimum allowed for an Enhancement. Purple (Very Rare) Sets PvP sets, set-ups for PvP and Archetype Origin sets are exempt from this rule, and their set bonuses work regardless of the level of the item's exemplar.
